The Last Degree

Some of the greatest stories of modern exploration are those of attempts to reach the Geographic South Pole. Still the names of explorers like Scott, Amundsen and Shackleton continue to fascinate us as we learn of their heroic journeys. Air temperatures in early October can be around -30°C (-22°F) and can rise to a high of -5°C (23°F) in mid December. There will be 24 hours of daylight. The wild whims of nature can fall as snow, blow as 60-knot winds and dance on the ice creating colours more beautiful than those used by Michelangelo.

I hope I can follow in their footsteps on the same journey…

I’am really enthusiastic about this adventure to the last degree.I will be following the lead up, adventure and outcome.
I was diagnosed with bi-polar at the age of 27years.The previous years were somewhat chaotic for me until there was a name put to my behaviour.I have now had over 30 years of freedom from major mood swings and a more settled life, due
to the drug lithium. This drug is not suitable for everyone, but works for me.
Hoping the Journey will lead to a better understanding and management of people with Bipolar Disorder.
